Luc de la Durantaye, CIBC Asset Management Inc.
Luc de la Durantaye is Managing Director, Asset Allocation and Currency Management at CIBC Asset Management (CAM). He leads a team of over twenty portfolio managers, analysts and traders who are responsible for strategic and tactical asset allocation, currency management and absolute return strategies. He is also a member of CAM's Investment Committee.
Luc began his career in 1985 as a financial analyst at a sell-side brokerage firm in Montreal. During the 1990s Luc began to focus on tactical asset allocation and currency management in his position with the investment management division of a large Canadian financial institution. After spending several years in Toronto he returned to Montreal in 2002, where he joined CIBC Asset Management Inc.'s predecessor firm as leader of the Asset Allocation and Currency team.
Luc is a frequent speaker at investment forums and is often quoted in the national media regarding his views on global currencies and international equity markets.
He received his Bachelor of International Finance from École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Montreal. He is also a CFA charterholder.
